Description
During this course, we will cover 6 of the most common syndromes documented in classical medicine, related to depression and anxiety, learn to identify them and to treat them with Chinese formulas as well as acupuncture point prescriptions. Additionally, the treatment of anxiety and depression in clinic greatly benefits from scalp acupunture stimulation and treatments. Hence, during this course, participants will also over 10 scalp treatment lines from 3 different scalp acupuncture systems, along with their clinical applications according to specific diseases or symptoms. Afterwards, we will review different single and multiple needling techniques specifically applied in scalp acupuncture with demonstration. We will also cover the application and contraindications of using electro-stimulation on the body and the scalp for these 2 important disorders.
Dr. Suzanne Robidoux has worked in the Neurological Hospital during her Ph.D. in Nanjing, China and has treated severe cases of MS, Parkinson’s, and ALS with scalp acupuncture, clinical moxa, and Chinese medicine. She will share the experience and knowledge she has gathered with these severe cases. At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to identify which single syndromes or combination of syndromes the patients are afflicted with, and have clear guidelines of treatment protocols.
Course Objectives:
– Learn the most common 6 syndromes causing depression and anxiety.
– Learn individual treatment protocols and herbal and point prescriptions per syndrome.
– Learn over 10 different scalp acupuncture lines, their locations, needling techniques and related symptoms.
– Become more proficient in treating depression and anxiety.
Course Design:
Each day will be 4 hours broadcasted live (12 hours altogether), with interaction through chat rooms. There will be a handout for this weekend with a worksheet of 10 questions at the end of the weekend to obtain your credits. Participants will have one week to complete the worksheet and send it by email. We will also take online registrations. If a participant is unable to attend one of the days of the weekend, an audio recording will be sent, 1 day per participant. However, the recordings of the weekends will not be available otherwise.
