Chinese Medicine Traveller

In China, there are over 41 different lineages of Zhang Zhong jing’s classical texts recorded by Dr. Wang Qing guo at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, confirming the multiple branches of this classical gem. Our lineage of this classical system was kept alive with the teachings of Dr. Feng Shi lun (冯世伦) who received his knowledge from Professor Hu Xi shu (胡希恕), which learned from the master eunuch Wang Xiang wei (王祥微). Generation after generation, this clinical gem was kept alive, while its understanding continued to develop and expand.

   

Dr. Suzanne Robidoux has been practicing herbal medicine for the last two decades. She has spent the last 5 years in China with Dr. Feng and this classical system of clinical application of Zhang Zhong Jing's teaching. She has done a post doctoral clinical research and published multiple articles while teaching this classical medicine worldwide to deepen clinical understanding. She has been side by side with the lineage holder for all teachings and has a firm grasp of this lineage. It is fair to say that the richness of this system brings more depth and understandings into the Shang Han Za Bing Lun.

   

During this 4-day classical medicine seminar, Dr. Robidoux will introduce the classical approach of Jing Fang, beginning with the 6 syndromes diagnosis methods and corresponding formula patterns, making the classical texts from Zhang Zhong jing pertinent and applicable in clinic.

 

Course Dates:

April 16th to 19th, 2021 for Jing fang 1: Jing fang Diagnostics and external syndromes of Tai yang and Shao yin with the pathomechanism of Jing Fang as well as the symptomology of the Six Syndrome System. We will also cover over 60 formulas patterns treating the exterior syndromes and the Ben Tun syndrome.

September 2nd to 5th, 2021 for Jing fang 2: Discuss the various internal Yang ming and Tai yin syndromes by understanding the pathology and the treatment protocol of each type of both yin and yang internal syndrome. We will also discuss the pattern presentations of over 120 formulas patterns addressing the various internal syndrome combinations.

May 5th to 8th, 2022 for Jing fang 3: WE will cover the various Half External Half Internal Shao yang and Jue yin syndromes, their pathomechanims as well as all their formulas pattern presentations. We will also cover the most common formula combinations.

October 6th to 9th, 2022 for Jing fang 4: We will discuss all pulse presentation mentioend by Zhang Zhong jing and understand what syndrome they belong to as well as how they fit with in the pattern presentation. We will also learn different ways to admnister the formulas through tinctures, external washes, external plasters and powders.
