This course covers important herbal toxicity material every Chinese herbalist should be aware of. On this one day seminar we will cover the classical herbal antagonists and incompatibilities. We will also cover the classical and modern herbal enhancing combinations and the importance of the six syndromes in the diagnostic approach of Chinese medicine. We will also cover the important toxic herbal medicinals and the various preparation techniques needed to lower their toxicity.

 

The second section of the course is to analyze and review the different contradictions between the Chinese herbal medicinals and the common biomedicine and their possible integration. This course integrates an introduction of the classical Six Syndrome thinking and rationale of Zhang Zhong jing and views medicinals according to the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing categorization method, while emphasizing key points in prescribing them to achieve effective clinical results and the side effects when prescribing the incorrect treatment formula.
